Frequently Asked Questions

Where did you study and gain your experience?

I've studied two degrees. The first was sport science in Stellenboch, South Africa. After this I moved to the UK in 2008 and studied Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire and gained a BSc (HONS) Physiotherapy degree. I have specialised in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy ever since seeing both NHS and private patients. I have a particular interest in endurance and team sports. Previously roles have included working with athletes and optimising their biomechanics for running or bike fit for cycling.

What is your favorite type of patient?

I love working as a team with patients who are proactive about their health. The best part of physio is that no patient is the same and we adapt their treatments depending on their goals. I enjoy assessing and treating all issues, but I have a particular interest and expert knowledge in lower limb injuries, pediatrics, runners and cyclist. I have worked with a local consultant to treat children specific injuries and also helped set up programs to prevent injuries.

What is your style of practice?

I truly believe that advice, education and exercise are the cornerstone of helping patents. However, to help relieve your pain and assist in your injuries healing, manual therapy and soft tissue manipulation is important. I understand that your recreational activities are key to you and if we can adjust your activity rather than 'resting', this will assist in your rehabilitation and mental health! Having worked in the local area for so long I have formed close relationships with many consultants and can easily refer you to the right person if this is what is needed.

What will we find you doing outside of the clinic?

Two young children keep me on my toes, but when I have some spare time. I like to exercise. Mostly cycling and occasionally running from time to time.
